Craig was raised in Crocker, MO and attended the Crocker Christian Church. He attended both Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, MO and Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly. He and Rebecca “Thomas” Rippy were married on July 11, 1981 and have five children. They now enjoy having a son-in-law and a grandson. Craig has held ministries in Iowa, Oklahoma and Missouri. He presently serves with the Missouri Christian Convention Planning Committee as the Workshop Chair, and was honored to be the President of the 2008 Missouri Christian Convention.

We will be electing 3 new members to our CMCE board at the September 20th meeting at Sunrise Christian Church in Mexico, MO. The new leaders proposed are: Mark Kummer (Fulton) as President; Dan Sites (Middletown) and Mark Butrum (Hallsville) as members. These will be joined by existing members: Fred Green (Moberly), Jim Dain (Bowling Green), John Stuffelbean (Mexico) and Don Stoll (Hallsville). All men serve 3 year terms.

It has been my privilege and honor to serve as President this past year. We have tried to have good themes presented by good men of God, and I believe we have succeeded in this. It has also been gratifying to see good attendance which seems to be building each month. Let’s keep up the good work!

FROM ROCKY FORK:

Update from Rocky Fork Fellowship Leadership Team
Dear C.M.C.E.,
Thank you for your generous gift of $600.00. It is greatly appreciated.

With the all cool weather lately, it is easy to see that summer is on its way out and fall will be coming soon!

Worship attendance has grown over the past couple of weeks with kids starting back to school and family vacations wrapping up. Excitement is starting to build as many new small groups are being launched for adults and youth.

Speaking of youth, all through the month of September we are partnering with KMFC 92.1 ("Switch FM") in their Journey to the Cross program. This radio program consists of interviews with students from various youth ministries. Our youth group was cho-sen to be the first group to be interviewed/ highlighted on their program.

The kids are really excited about this opportunity! It is our hope to be an inspiration and encouragement to other teens listening to Switch FM. The interviews will be broadcast each Saturday night in September. Thank you for your prayers and support that allow us to continue to do ministry here in Hallsville.

In His Name, Rocky Fork Fellowship Leadership Team

FROM CORNERSTONE:

Update from Cornerstone Christian Church
729 Youth Group
There are times in our lives when times are rough. The storms of life seem to rise up out of a calm and soothing sea and they threaten to swallow us. Often we see no way of escape. We may be holding onto the mast for dear life, just seeming to wait there for the inevitable capsize of our small sea fairing vessel. Sometimes the storm is something that dissipates just as quickly as it came upon us. Other times our storms come on us and we do not see the sun for what feels like forever. It is in these periods of time, when the billowing clouds come upon us that we question. We turn and scream out to the now darkening sky, “WHY?! What is happening?” The storms can leave us scared, sorrowful, and even leaving us in a horrible state of self-pity. We got into this situation somehow and we do not know how to get out. There is wonderful news. We have so many promises from our wonderful God that we can cling on to, and that will hold up more firmly than anything else we try to cling to in these times. God never promises us that hard times will not come. We are not promised that we will not suffer, which at first may not seem reassuring at all. In fact we are told in the Scriptures that hard times will come, that we will face trials or persecutions in our lives. Jesus even told the 12 that they would face trouble, and Peter later in his first letter tells the Church trials and persecutions will come. But Jesus has overcome the world! We serve a much bigger God. Our times of trouble may seem big but they are nothing compared to the wonderful God we serve. The hard times we face are only for a season. Some seasons are longer than others but they will pass. We are instructed to persevere, even in the dark times. Even when times are hard we have a loving God who is there for us. He promises to be with us even when we don’t feel Him. He promises us that we can make it through. In James we are prom-ised a crown of life for persevering under trial. Jesus has overcome the world, God is with us, and we can make it through. We are given these promises. God has also blessed us with another gift, the Church. We never have to go through things alone. The people in the Church are there in the good and bad times. When the Church functions properly we never go through things alone. God and man are there to see us through.
